Dr. Au received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Science from the University of the Pacific. She then attended the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS).
During her studies, Dr. Au found her passion for restorative dentistry and went on to attend three additional years of training in the Advanced Prosthodontics Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry and receive her Masters of Oral Science degree. She is a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP).
As part of her commitment to providing her patients with cutting-edge restorative dentistry, Dr. Au stays current with the latest advancements in dentistry, including state-of-the-art technology and updated techniques and materials. Dr. Au was born in Taipei, Taiwan, and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is a foodie and a yogi. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling with her significant other, Matthew, who is also a dentist.
Dr. Barbara Curtis grew up in Los Angeles and has been practicing as a general dentist since 1995. She graduated from the University of California Berkeley with a BS in biology and went on to earn her DDS from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. Barbara received several awards while in dental school at USC including the Thor Humanitarian Award, which is given to the graduating student that most demonstrates humanistic values.
Dr. Curtis loves getting to know our patients to understand their needs and desires. She appreciates the unique nature of each patient and enjoys the fact that every day brings different challenges.
In her free time, Dr. Curtis is an avid Mahjong player and currently participates in four groups!
Dr. Donald Curtis has been a practicing prosthodontist in Berkeley for over twenty years and has also been a professor at the University of California San Francisco since 1986.
Dr. Curtis graduated from the University of Oregon with a BS in general sciences, received a DMD dental degree from the University of Oregon Health Sciences Center and a certificate in prosthodontics from the University of Southern California, and went on to earn a certificate in maxillofacial prosthodontics from University of California at Los Angeles. Dr. Curtis has held faculty appointments at USC, UCLA, and UCSF.
At UCSF, Dr. Curtis works with graduate students training to become prosthodontists. He has published over 50 articles in scientific literature ranging from how to decrease and/or reverse cavities to how implants work and how quality-of-life issues are related to dental procedures.
A native of Alameda, Dr. Curtis enjoys hiking and reading in his spare time.
Suzanne attended Briarcliff College in Briarcliff Manor, New York, for two years before transferring to the University of Michigan, where she received her Bachelors of Science degree in dental hygiene. She started working with Berkeley Prosthodontics in 1972 and then took some time to raise her boys. In 1981, Suzanne resumed her dental hygiene career and has been back working at our practice since 2001.
Suzanne loves the relationships with her patients that have developed over time. She is grateful that her patients trust her to take care of their oral health and give them advice on their home care. Suzanne enjoys helping people maintain their oral health, which contributes to their overall well-being
A native of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Suzanne spends a lot of time reading, doing home renovations, and gardening. She also enjoys volunteering at Richmond Elementary School, tutoring second graders. But best of all, she loves spending time with her sons, their families, and her delightful granddaughter who just turned one!
Marilyn graduated from NYCC in 1972 and has been working at Berkeley Prosthodontics since 2002. She enjoys working as part of a dedicated team and taking the time to get to know patients coming to the practice
Marilyn has resided in Alameda with her husband for 35 years. In her free time, she loves walking outdoors, belly dancing, ethnic dance, reading, and spending time with family.
Veva has been working as a dental assistant for over 35 years and became part of the Berkeley Prosthodontists team in August 2017. She studied dental assisting and radiology at Chabot College and received additional training at UCSF School of Dentistry to become a Registered Dental Assistant with extended functions.
She loves working with her patients and is genuinely concerned about their health and well-being.
A native of Union City, CA, Veva enjoys volunteering at James Logan High School marching band competitions and going to the movies with her husband on weekends. She is the proud mom of a senior in high school who is the principal percussionist of the James Logan High School Wind Symphony in Union City, CA
