Berkeley Prosthodontics and General Dentistry

I’m worried that my new dentures will be uncomfortable. How can you help?

Many patients who are considering dentures have the same worry. It’s true that the dentures your grandparents wore probably were uncomfortable. Decades ago, when a prosthodontist dentures | dentist in berkeley cacreated new dentures, there wasn’t much flexibility in design or appearance.

But updated materials and techniques have completely changed the way a lot of people think about dentures. Today, we work with master ceramists and skilled technicians to create full or partial dentures for you that restore function and appearance. Modern materials make it possible for us to design dentures for you that are so comfortable you may forget they’re not your natural teeth.

Modern Denture Restoration

Even though dentures today fit better than ever, many patients would prefer a fixed solution that eliminates the worry of shifting dentures. Every patient is different, but generally, we can place four titanium dental implants at different points along your jaw. We design your new dentures with attachments that correspond to the dental implants to create a fit that feels as much like your natural teeth as possible. We can also use dental implants to hold partial dentures securely in place.

If you are facing the prospect of wearing dentures and would like to learn more about the benefits of dental implants, please contact our Berkeley dental office for a convenient consultation.
